MelBet expands African sports betting portfolio with MelBet Kenya

MELBET bettors will now be able to wager on an international scale, gaining access to more than 2000 betting markets

Melbet, a sports betting company, has launched its sports betting platform melbet.ke MelBet Kenya – enabling local players the ability to game and place wagers on an international scale.

The La Liga media partner, which already operates across Nigeria, Ghana, and Uganda will now open an office in capital city Nairobi. The office launch was accompanied by the news that they would also be launching their official affiliate program.

The platform offers access to over 2000 events daily, Cashout, Boosted odds, Live-in-play betting, VIP gaming, E-sports wagering, among others. Available on mobile, PC and Android App, the platform will be made accessible on Opera Mini, the launch of which the company has said is in the works.

Speaking from the Kenyan office, MelBet Kenya Head of Operations Henry Omollo said: “This is only the start of MelBet Kenya. Our focus is on the people of Kenya and we are extremely delighted to offer Kenyans a product that is reliable, affordable and most importantly trustable to the Kenyan people.

“Our sole purpose is to promote responsible gaming while creating multiple opportunities for the Kenyans. Our Affiliate partnership program is very open to anyone and our rates are amazing and unmatchable in this country.”

The gambling company is kickstarting its launch with several bonuses, and a 100% refund is also guaranteed for first-time players whose multi-bet loses by 1 game. There is a MelBet loyalty club where customers will earn points for every time they stake or deposit.

MelBet’s launch is part of Kenya’s plan to open up its online betting market following a 2019 government suspension which saw the Uhuru Kenyatta government suspend Kenya’s entire sports betting marketplace, blacklisting 27 licensed sportsbooks over tax disputes with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

On KRA instructions all national licensed banks were required to terminate payment and mobile M-PESA wallet services for betting firms.

As part of MelBet’s soft launch, the firm will also be undertaking a CSR initiative across various slums in the capital city of Nairobi to re-sensitize citizens on the pandemic of Covid-19 as well as encouraging the youth to come out and showcase their talents in the various sports disciplines.
